Can we go for a walk now mom?

I had a HORRIBLE day at work today, but all of that pent up frustration went away when I got home today and saw our new B.O.B Stroller had been delivered! A HUGE THANK YOU to my Aunt Rooney for getting us such a SPECIAL and generous gift! After I assembled the stroller, Hailey sniffed it out for approval. Excuse her slightly blurred head in this picture, but she was basically saying, "Mom...I don't want to pose next to the stroller, let's go for a walk already!" Wyatt, Hailey, and I are all set for some big adventures!

Dr. Appointment - Regular Check Up

Today I had a regular check up with the OBGYN, and fortunately, there was no poking, prodding, or chugging involved :) My blood pressure was normal and I got a thumbs up from the doctor because I've only gained 10 pounds since the start of my pregnancy. We listened to Wyatt's heart beat and he's still in the 150s in terms of beats per minute. They measured my stomach and the Dr. said he was right on track in terms of growth for 28 weeks. Hello 3rd trimester! We talked about C-Sections, Episiotomies, and Epidurals. I told the Dr. that whatever brought Wyatt into this world and me though delivery the safest (and most comfortable) was fine with me! I guess I'm now on the every 2 week visit since I'm in my 3rd trimester, so my next appointment is June 9th.

Anna Maria Island ~ 27.5 Weeks

Today is my last day at the beach. My mom rented out a beach cottage on Anna Maria Island, which in my opinion, is Florida's best kept secret. This is the beach I grew up coming to and I can't wait to bring Wyatt down here one day. The beaches are quiet and unpopulated, the water is calm and clear, and when you walk out the door...you're on the beach! I flew down on Tuesday night and my mom picked me up at the Sarasota/Bradenton Airport. Wednesday was spent with long time friends (Rhonda Sue) and family (my Aunt Julie) where we dined on the BEST jumbo fried shrimp at the Rod 'n Reel Pier, a local favorite. When I say BEST, I mean best by a huge margin! Thursday we spent the morning at the beach and then drove into town to get a chocolate shake at the famous Shake Pit. We then headed down to Sarasota, Siesta Key, St. Armand's Circle, and then back to Anna Maria Island to catch the Sunset by way of Long Boat Key. We took some fun pictures of Wyatt's name in the sand, and I had my mom pose in the shape of a "Y" so I can use it to make a photo collage of Wyatt's name. Friday we ate at the Waterfront Cafe where the fish tacos are to die for. We then met up with my best friend parents (Mama #2 and Dad, or Kathy and Dick to everyone else) and spent some time on the beach catching up on our tan and recent happenings. We met up with "Uncle Richard" for dinner, a former roommate of my dad's some 35 years ago. Now my flight leaves in a few hours and I'm already starting to miss the island. Good news is...we'll be back in October so baby Wyatt will be able to put his toes in the sand!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there! I had a wonderful first mother's day and I can't wait to have my first mother's day with Wyatt in my arms, as opposed to this year while he's in my belly :) The picture above is the mother's day gift that Joe got for me...a Vera Bradley bag that I can use as my diaper/carry-all bag.

Swollen Feet

Today was an "on your feet" kind of day as I was running around to all sorts of properties and trying to save the day at work. At the end of the day, I looked down and realized I was rocking a hot caveman look with my jumbo feet. Just for comparison, the first picture is what my feet looked like 3 years ago, well before I was pregnant. The second picture was what my feet looked like yesterday...ouch. The third picture is my revival of the broccoli stir-fry...ahh, relief. I've decided we're never going to eat this stir-fry as it seems to come in handy more as an ice pack for headaches and swollen extremities rather than a menu item for dinner.

Wyatt's Crib and Bedding

Wyatt's Great Grandparents (Billy and Joy) have already spoiled him rotten! They wanted to make sure he had a special place to lie his little head so they generously gave us his bedding ensemble. It has very clean lines on the bumper and bed skirt, and the sheets are navy blue with white polka dots. I tried tying bows to secure the bumper to the crib, but thought that was too girly, so I sat there for 20 minutes to ensure that each tie made a perfect square knot...obsessive, I know. Once we get the rest of the furniture in the room, we'll be sure and post pictures. Joe did go ahead and paint one of the walls a deep navy blue, hence the paint can hanging out in the back of the picture :)
