Marietta Day Trip

Wyatt and I went over to Marietta to see Papa Jack for Father's Day and we took him and Elena out to lunch to this really cute burger place. Following lunch, we went over to watch Grammy finish up her tennis match...and she won! Wyatt must be her little good luck charm :) Here they are before the match watching some of the other tennis players...we interrupted Wyatt's viewing for a quick photo op, but as you can see, he was pretty focused on the ball. We might have a future tennis player in the family!

Where did my baby go?

Wyatt is almost 10 months in these pictures, and I just can't help but notice that he looks more like a little boy then my baby boy. He's walking around everywhere (with assistance), feeding himself solid foods, cutting teeth, and developing the biggest and sweetest personality you ever did see. Time sure is flying by and I really just wish it would slow down!

Beach Trip to Destin, FL

We went to Destin, FL the last week in May for a big family get together and had a wonderful time. This was Wyatt's second trip to the beach following his journey down to Anna Maria Island when he was just 2 1/2 months old. He really enjoyed the water at the pool and chilling in his float. He was OK with the sand, but not too impressed and found it to be a little messy. On Saturday we went deep sea fishing and caught a ton of red snapper...enough to feed 17 people later that night at dinner! Everyone was waiting for us at the doc when we returned to see our loot, including our biggest little fan :) We're looking forward to more beach trips in the future where we can teach Wyatt how to build sand castles, search for sea shells, and ride the waves!

Best Buds

Hailey and Wyatt are really starting to have a lot of fun together now that he's mobile and is more aware of her. He laughs when we walk up to the house and he can see her waiting for us at the door, and he loves to throw his toys and watch her chase them. They are sure to have a ball once they are both running around!

Future Golfer?

 In honor of the Nationwide event this weekend in Athens, I dressed Wyatt up in plaid and polo, complete with his Payne Stewart hat.

Here Wyatt is at the Stadion Classic, a Nationwide Tour event held at UGA's golf course. Joe's college teammate, Aron Price, was playing in the tournament so we all went as a family to cheer him on! This was Wyatt's first golf tournament experience, and I'm sure it won't be his last.

Wyatt's First Race

On Saturday, April 7th, Wyatt and I ran in the Terrapin 5K + one more mile, so a total of 4.2 miles. Actually, Wyatt slept the whole way :) Here we are before the start of the race.

36 Weeks

Easter

Easter weekend was incredibly busy this year! On Friday, we grilled out for 11 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs!! The kabobs, tomato/cucumber/onion salad, and asian slaw turned out good and the company was even better. It was great to catch up with everyone now that we all seem to be spread out around the southeast. On Saturday, we got up and headed out to the Oconee Veterans Park so Wyatt could meet the Easter bunny. They had a little egg hunt set up for the kids, but Wyatt wasn't really into it. Later that afternoon, I ran a 5K + 1 extra mile (4.2 miles total) and I pushed Wyatt in the jogging stroller (pictures to come in another blog post). It was put on by the Terrapin Brewery, so the best part about the entire run was the cold beer at the end :) Saturday night, we went over to Grandma DeDe and Joe P's house for Easter supper. Wyatt got himself a little Easter basket, as did his parents...you're never too old for the Easter bunny :) On Sunday morning, Wyatt, Joe, and I got up at 7am and headed over to Marietta where we met up with Grammy LiLi. We had some fun in the backyard and then headed to a neighborhood park to see the ducks (geese) and go for a little swing. We finished the day off over at Grandpa Jak and Grandma Elena's house for some grilled turkey and company. It was a busy weekend but it was wonderful to spend time with everyone! Can't wait until next year when Wyatt can hunt for the eggs!!!

Play Date

The Friday before Easter, we had a bunch of people over to the house and we grilled out kabobs and such. Two of our good friends have babies the same age as Wyatt, so all of the babies got together and had a playmate. Here are a few pictures of Wyatt, Daly, and Campbell romping around together.

Here's a little video from Wyatt playing the other day. We gave him this toy for Christmas and he wasn't really into it then, but LOVES it now. It makes all sorts of silly sounds and bounces balls all over the place. Wyatt was trying to get the balls that were bouncing around and then all of a sudden, he swoops his hand down and makes a stellar grab at the orange ball. The action shot is towards the end of the video after the orange colored ball is thrown in. With a grab like that, maybe he'll make a great shortstop one day!

Weekend Fun

The weather this weekend was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, so we spent the majority of it outside. Here's a look at what all we did...

32 Weeks

At 32 Weeks, Wyatt is motoring around the house and is also such a good little eater! He's really getting into the solid foods and seems to enjoy each new one he tries. We haven't circled back around to the green beans as of yet, but everything else has pretty much been a go! Because of his new desire to crawl and explore everything, we went ahead and took the precautionary steps to baby-proof the house. The little guy is starting to be hard to keep up with these days!

College Bound

Our friend Pat played golf at Stanford University out in Palo Alto, CA and he and his wife Erin gave Wyatt this adorable onesie.  Wyatt immediately felt compelled to convey his thoughts on where he would like to go to college one day...enjoy.

"Hey Mom, this shirt is pretty cool! I think I might have a future at Standford University."

"Please consider it, will you? I promise I will potty train as soon as possible so you can redirect my diaper fund straight into my college savings account!"

31 Weeks

And we're crawling!!!

7 Months

I can't believe that Wyatt is 7 months already! At 7 months, Wyatt is now crawling and is starting to pull up on just about everything that he can get his hands on. He is still the most easy going baby and has developed the sweetest personality. He's the biggest flirt with all the ladies at daycare and always seems to catch the attention of all the sweet little old ladies at the grocery store :) What a ham this boy is!
